Kōchi (Kōchi Shi)

Kōchi (高知市) is the capital city of Kōchi Prefecture located on the island of Shikoku in Japan. With over 40% of the prefectural population, Kōchi is the main commercial and industrial centre and the "primate city" of the prefecture. , the city had an estimated population of 320,513 in 164650 households, and a population density of 1000 persons per km². The total area of the city is 309.00 sqkm.

A symbol of the city is its most famous dish, katsuo tataki, made by lightly searing and seasoning bonito.

Japan (日本, or, and formally 日本国, Nihonkoku) is an island country in East Asia. It is situated in the northwest Pacific Ocean and is bordered on the west by the Sea of Japan, extending from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north toward the East China Sea, Philippine Sea, and Taiwan in the south.
